The Grotto - 31 October 2004

Halloween, like celebrating Allen's Birthday, is an ancient tradition. Mei organized a Grotto outing to respect both. I drove out with Debby and Ellen, meeting up with loads of folks including Mei, Daniel, Kirsten, Stephie, Matt, Amy, a bunch of folks whose names I forgot, and of course, birthday boy Allen. With the crowd, there were plenty of ropes and we knew how to share them. On Ort Wall, from right to left, we ticked off cowboy up (5.9), sidesaddle (5.9), color coded quickdraws (5.10b), and ?? (5.11a). On the Lower Main Wall, also from right to left, ropes were found on bandito (5.8), a-c devil dog (5.10c), table manners (5.8/9?), rawhide (5.10d), and Daniel was responsible for the hand/fist crack ?? (5.9). Finally, we dropped a rope on the always exciting grotto monkey (5.12a).
